Creating a charge

Step by step

Open Sell
From the bottom navigation, tap Sell. Enter the amount using the keypad.

Choose payment method
Use manual card entry, connect a reader, initialize Tap to Pay where supported, or create a hosted payment link or invoice.

Payment is processed
Stripe processes the payment in real time. You'll see an instant success or decline notification.
4
Share a receipt
After a successful payment, share the receipt by email, text, copy, or tap receipt where supported.

Note: Card-present transactions (Tap to Pay, card reader) benefit from Stripe's lowest rates. There is no charge for declined payments. See stripe.com/pricing for current rates.

Common questions

Flow POS shows Stripe payment details from the Transactions tab. If refund controls are not available in the embedded payment details for your account, open the Stripe Dashboard to issue the refund.

Flow POS shows an instant decline notification with a reason code. You are not charged any fee for declined payments. Ask the customer to try another card or payment method.

Not with a dedicated Flow POS tip prompt yet. Enter the final total manually before starting the payment. Tip prompts are marked as coming soon.

Yes. Card-present transactions using chip (EMV) or NFC are significantly more secure than manual entry and shift fraud liability away from you to the card network.
