Tip prompts are planned, but the current Flow POS checkout does not include suggested tips, custom tip prompts, or reader tip screens.

Status: Flow POS does not currently have Settings → Payments → Tips, checkout tip prompts, suggested percentages, custom tip entry, or on-reader tip collection. These are roadmap items.

Planned tip options

Suggested percentages

Preset tip percentages such as 15%, 18%, and 20% for fast customer selection.

Custom tip amount

Allow customers to enter a custom tip amount in addition to suggested values.

No tip option

Keep a clear no-tip path for customer transparency.

Reader tip screen

Explore tip collection on compatible Stripe Terminal reader flows where supported.

Current workaround

  1. Ask the customer whether they want to add a tip before starting payment.
  2. Calculate the final total outside Flow POS.
  3. Enter the final total on the Sell keypad.
  4. Complete the payment using manual entry, Tap to Pay, or a connected reader.
  5. Use the optional invoice/link description when you need to note that the total includes gratuity.

The customer sees the base amount before the tip step.

Planned tip options will appear before payment collection. This is not active in the current Flow POS checkout.

The new total (charge + tip) is shown before the customer presents their card or uses Tap to Pay.

Receipt and transaction details will show tip information when this feature is implemented.

Yes. Stripe processes the total amount (charge + tip) and applies the processing fee to the combined total. There is no separate fee structure for tips.

Not yet. Tip prompts are planned, but the current app requires you to enter the final amount manually.

Because tip prompts are not active yet, there is no per-payment tip toggle in Flow POS today.
